Garlic has always had a place in the Indian kitchen.

It goes into the tadka, the chutney, the pickle, the curry. Sometimes you notice it straight away. Sometimes it is just there in the background, making the food taste like home.

This set was made with that everyday ingredient in mind.

At the centre is a rounded ceramic jar with a handmade garlic sitting on the lid, along with a single clove. Beside it is a softly shaped oval platter and a small ceramic spoon rest, all made in the same warm ivory clay and finished by hand.

The jar is made for the things you like to keep close — pickle, chutney, spices or a favourite kitchen staple.

The platter is ready for salad, sliced vegetables, accompaniments or something freshly served.

And the little spoon rest stays beside you while you're cooking or serving.

Use the three together when you're setting the table, or let each piece find its own place in the kitchen.

Nothing about the set is meant to be overly decorative.

The little garlic on the lid is enough.

It is a small detail, but it gives the whole set its character.

THE DETAIL THAT MAKES IT LASUN

The garlic on the lid is made by hand rather than added as a printed or painted decoration.

The small clove beside it makes the lid feel almost like a little still life from the kitchen.

The rest of the set stays deliberately simple — warm ivory ceramic, soft handmade surfaces and subtle detailing.

The result is something that feels connected to food and cooking without looking like a themed kitchen set.



HANDMADE CHARACTER

Every piece is made and finished individually.

The garlic and clove on the lid are shaped by hand, so their size, shape and position may vary slightly from the piece shown.

The platter and spoon rest will also have their own small differences in shape, surface, glaze and detailing.

You may notice tiny marks, variations in the clay or slight changes in the glaze.

That's part of handmade pottery.

No two sets will be completely identical, and we don't try to make them that way.

Every piece begins with ceramic clay and is individually shaped, glazed, and kiln-fired by skilled artisans. The process is deliberately hands-on, allowing the natural character of the clay and glaze to remain part of the finished piece.

Where hand-painted details are featured, each design is applied individually rather than reproduced by machine. Subtle differences in brushwork, colour, glaze, texture, and form are therefore natural. They give every piece its own character and are part of what makes genuine handmade pottery different from mass-produced tableware.

Every piece is carefully checked, wrapped, and securely packed before it leaves our studio. Handmade ceramics need extra protection while travelling, so we take particular care with every order, whether it is going across India or across the world.
