The Ocean Current Mug & Bowl Set

The Ocean Current Mug & Bowl Set takes its name from the flowing carved lines and layered glaze across the pieces, reminiscent of currents moving through water.

The mug has carved lines running down its surface, while the bowl carries the same sense of movement through its textured form. Deep blue, ocean green and earthy brown glaze settle across both pieces, creating areas of lighter and darker colour as the glaze moves over the surface.

The two pieces are made to sit together naturally. Use the mug for coffee, tea or hot chocolate, and the bowl for breakfast, snacks, desserts or small meals.

EACH SET HAS ITS OWN CHARACTER

The glaze settles differently across the carved and textured surfaces, so the balance of blue, green and brown will naturally vary from one piece to another. Some areas may be deeper in colour, while others may show more of the lighter blue and green tones.

The mug and bowl are made to belong together, but their exact glaze patterns will not be identical. These natural differences are part of what makes each set its own.

Every piece begins with ceramic clay and is individually shaped, glazed, and kiln-fired by skilled artisans. The process is deliberately hands-on, allowing the natural character of the clay and glaze to remain part of the finished piece.

Where hand-painted details are featured, each design is applied individually rather than reproduced by machine. Subtle differences in brushwork, colour, glaze, texture, and form are therefore natural. They give every piece its own character and are part of what makes genuine handmade pottery different from mass-produced tableware.

Every piece is carefully checked, wrapped, and securely packed before it leaves our studio. Handmade ceramics need extra protection while travelling, so we take particular care with every order, whether it is going across India or across the world.
